Hello and welcome to this installment of Six Sentence Sunday. Below you'll find some more lines from my current Work in Progress, which is a Young Adult book that is part of a series I am writing.
Enjoy!
I woke up as the bed jostled next to me. My eyes flew open and I gasped.
“Deacon, what are you doing?”
He rolled over onto his side. “My tent is cold.”
I shoved at his shoulder. “You can’t come and get in bed with me because you’re cold.”
I’d only been asleep for maybe two hours. My head hurt and I was in no mood to deal with this.
Sounds like a good reason to get into bed to me! But maybe not, this is YA after all. Perhaps she should send him packing? Seems like a shame though.
ReplyDeleteI think warming up is the perfect reason for sharing a bed!
ReplyDeleteCheeky little bugger! LOL
ReplyDeleteUm, what? Like that's wrong???
ReplyDeleteWhat happens next?
Love snuggling. Wonder what has her upset?
ReplyDeleteYeah right. "cause he's cold." Sounds like a come on to me
ReplyDeleteNice. Who could resist a guy named Deacon? lol. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI can't argue his sense of practicality!
ReplyDeleteThey always have an excuse, don't they? Hmph.
ReplyDeleteI love her attitude. Looking forward to the release of first book in this series.
ReplyDeleteDeacon's cold, sounds like he needs to get warm and body heat is the quickest way. But, it looks like he is going to have to leave and endure the cold on his own.
ReplyDeleteAnother great sneak peak of an awesome series.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely looking forward to reading more.
ReplyDeleteTent? What tent :)
ReplyDelete"My tent is cold"...likely story.
ReplyDeleteNice post but I have to ask (sorry it's the editor in me) Was she sleeping NEXT to the bed when it jostled or did something jostled NEXT to her? :-) You know I'm teasing ya!
ReplyDelete*giggles* Well now...what happens next Rebecca? Great post!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Eleri. Likely story. LOL
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Especially for young adult. What's the series?
ReplyDeletetee-hee. Nice excuse there ;)
